On behalf of the Future Action Fest Executive Committee, Mr. Nishikata of SGI Youth, Mr. Murohashi of the Japan Youth Council, Mr. Horiguchi of Youth for TPNW and Mr. Tanaka of Kakwaka Hiroshima issued a joint statement. Presented to the Rector of the United Nations University, Mr. Marwala (UN Under-Secretary-General).
The joint statement announced this time is based on the opinions gathered in the Youth Awareness Survey and aims to help promote discussions at the Future Summit to be held at the United Nations in September this year. It consists mainly of four pillars.
Firstly, « overcoming the climate crisis « . Greenhouses established by UN member states aim to limit the rise in global average temperatures to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, as set out in the Paris Agreement (which came into force in 2016). promoting initiatives to raise gas emission reduction targets, triple installed renewable energy capacity and double the rate of energy efficiency improvement, and from the perspective of « climate justice », we call for immediate and appropriate help to be provided to citizens.
Secondly, « Realizing a world without nuclear weapons ». Promote an increase in the number of countries that have signed and ratified the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, call on the Japanese government to participate as an observer in the Third Conference of the Parties, and share and pass on the experiences of the world’shibakusha (nuclear victims around the world). It calls for an early convening of the Fourth Special General Assembly on Disarmament at the United Nations as a forum to promote nuclear disarmament education.
Thirdly, « For the participation of young people in the decision-making process ». We advocate the creation of youth councils at national and local levels to collect and discuss young people’s opinions, and the creation of gender-balanced decision-making processes, as well as the creation of sustainable youth organizations to solve global issues. It is hoped a « Youth Fund » to promote such activities will be created.
Fourth, « For the reform of the United Nations « . While calling for the creation of a « Youth Council » centered on the UN Youth Bureau to bring the voice of youth to the international community, it also calls for the creation of a new « Security Council Reform Committee » under the aegis of the UN Secretary-General.

La déclaration commune annoncée cette fois-ci est basée sur les opinions recueillies dans le cadre de l’Enquête de sensibilisation auprès des jeunes et vise à contribuer à la promotion des discussions lors du Sommet du futur qui se tiendra aux Nations Unies en septembre de cette année. Il se compose principalement de quatre piliers.
Premièrement, « pour surmonter la crise climatique ». Les serres établies par les États membres des Nations Unies visent à limiter l’augmentation des températures moyennes mondiales à 1,5 degré Celsius par rapport aux niveaux préindustriels, comme le prévoit l’Accord de Paris (entré en vigueur en 2016). promotion d’initiatives visant à relever les objectifs de réduction des émissions de gaz, à tripler la capacité installée d’énergies renouvelables et à doubler le taux d’amélioration de l’efficacité énergétique, et dans la perspective de la « justice climatique », nous demandons qu’une aide immédiate et appropriée soit fournie aux citoyens.

Troisièmement, « Pour la participation des jeunes au processus décisionnel ». Nous préconisons la création de conseils de jeunesse aux niveaux national et local pour recueillir et discuter des opinions des jeunes, et la création de processus décisionnels équilibrés entre les sexes, ainsi que la création d’organisations de jeunesse durables pour résoudre les problèmes mondiaux. On espère créer un « Fonds jeunesse » pour promouvoir de telles activités.
Quatrièmement, « Pour la réforme des Nations Unies ». Tout en appelant à la création d’un « Conseil de la jeunesse » centré sur le Bureau de la jeunesse des Nations Unies pour faire entendre la voix des jeunes à la communauté internationale, il appelle à la création d’un nouveau « Comité de réforme du Conseil de sécurité » sous l’égide de Secrétaire général de l’ONU
